ChangeLog

If you find Inline Search useful (most people do), think about donating (most people don't)!

1.5.0 - 10th of May 2007

That was a quick one! Firstly we fixed some bugs and strengthened our regression tests in the process:

For the record, we thought about switching from VS2003 to VS2005 to build Inline Search which caused the UI problems (our ignorance really). If anyone knows what to make of ...

Due to the requirement that Visual C++ projects produce an embedded (by default) Windows SxS manifest, manifest files in the project are automatically excluded from building with the Manifest Tool. It is recommended that the dependency information contained in any manifest files be converted to "#pragma comment(linker,"<insert dependency here>")" in a header file that is included from your source code. If your project already embeds a manifest in the RT_MANIFEST resource section through a resource (.rc) file, the line will need to be commented out before the project will build correctly.

... let us know :P

We are pretty excited about a new feature which justifies the 1.5.0 version numbering. IS automatically scroll the page so the search term is never on the top or bottom edge of the window. It doesn't look like much but it makes a big difference showing the context of the term search quickly henceforth tremendous time saving!

Last but not least, 3 new languages are included in the distribution:

You'll also notice the new look of the IEforge site, which now boasts a subtle touch of visual web 2.0 ness (rounded corners :P).

Give us a hand translating Inline Search and make it to the HallOfFame.

1.4.5 - 27th of April 2007

A functional, cosmetic and language release.

F3 now behaves like Ctrl+F if the search pane is not open instead of opening the legacy search pop up.

The English(default) entry in the language selector has been removed because it was redundant with the standard English entry. The version balloon now shows Inline Search v 1.4 instead of Inline Search Version 1.4 (easier than getting the 26 (25 really) kind translators to translate one more word for us, plus we like it better that way).

On the language front, now included in the distribution:

We won the grand prize of the best add-on for IE henceforth are off to MIX07 tomorrow ;)

1.4.4 - 2nd of April 2007

Another languages release (1.5 is maturing a bit slower than we expected but it is going to be a good one):

The installer has been slightly modified to take new users to the Installed page.

1.4.3 - 25th of February 2007

New languages release:

1.4.2 - 18th of February 2007

The ESC key to close the pane was disabled, it is now back to normal. Another Unicode bug showed its ugly head up with the Chinese translation and was annihilated promptly.

New language, just in time for Chinese New Year :

1.4.1 - 15th of February 2007

Unicode support bug fix, localization scope widened (we forgot to translate the language tab :P), and 3 new languages:

1.4 - 10th of February 2007

Nowhere near what we wanted it to be (time ...) but now available in 7 languages:

1.3 - 7th of November 2006

No new features as such but many bugs/annoyances eliminated:

1.2 - 11th of October 2006

IEforge icon and menu added to the search pane:

1.1 - 8th of September 2006

Using the first comments we received and based on personal experience and product vision we adjusted the behavior of Inline Search:

1.0 - 5th of September 2006

Initial release.
